I joined the Southern Womens Group board about 6 years ago.

I have a background in community engagement and management, mostly on overseas development projects, and most with a focus on gender equity and social inclusion (I made it a focus if not already in formal project objectives!).

When I moved back to the south coast, I was keen to find an organisation to support that suited my background and feminist philosophy. I am also very concerned about the level of violence against women in our community, and wanted to support local organisations that support women in violent situations, and to reduce and ultimately eliminate violence against women. 

I am very proud to be involved with the SWG, such a fabulous group of women, dedicated staff, and volunteers.

If you are looking for a worthy community organisation to support, I highly recommend you get involved in the SWG.
